The Emmanuel Library occupies three floors at the
west end of the building. The Library contains 158,000 items,
including the Rare Books Collection with its 1493 Nuremberg
Chronicle, the New Testament Seminar Library Collection, and the
Restoration Movement Archives. The first floor houses the receiving
and technical processing room, circulation desk, reference office,
public reading area and the information commons. The Reference
Collection and the Serials Collection of more than 300 academic
journals and other periodicals are also on the first floor. The Library’s
second floor houses the majority of its Main Collection. Also
located on the second floor are seven research carrels and two
seminar/group study rooms. The third floor houses the Dr. Beauford
Bryant New Testament Seminar Library Collection and part of the
Library’s Main Collection. Non-print media such as audio and video tapes and CDs, Christian education
resources, and computer-based biblical and patristic studies
tools, indexing and abstracting services, and other reference tools
are among the resources available on campus to the community of
scholars at Emmanuel.
