Prerequisites
Applicants for admission must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college, or must satisfy the Committee on Admissions that their education has been equivalent to that of graduates of accredited colleges. They must present evidence of graduation, a certified record of studies, and references.

Admission is open to qualified students from any church body or theological tradition. Emmanuel does not discriminate on the basis of age, race, sex, disability, color, or national or ethnic origin, in its admission or educational policies.

Master of Divinity

The Master of Divinity is as a 90 hour program that is traditionally designed to prepare students who are entering a ministry position. This program provides more practical ministry experience opportunities. Students are required to take 2 years of a language and must either complete a thesis or a ministry project. This degree aims to provide students with a breadth of education in all the areas of theological learning, with a focus on the practice of pastoral ministry. (all links below are .pdf files)

Master of Arts in Religion

The Master of Arts in Religion is a 58 hour academic degree, allowing students to study in depth in the areas of Old Testament, New Testament, Church History or Christian Doctrine. This program is traditionally designed for students who plan to pursue further study beyond the Masters level. Students are required to write a thesis for completion of the MAR degree.

Doctor of Ministry

The Doctor of Ministry degree is considered the “highest earned degree for the profession and practice of ministry” by The Association of Theological Schools in the United States and Canada. Our DMin program is designed to provide ministers who are dedicated to life long learning with an advanced professional degree in the practice of ministry. Classes are scheduled to allow you to continue your work as a minister while pursuing the degree. Please see the Doctor of Ministry website for full details.
