Located on the campus of Emmanuel School of Religion, in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the Thompson Community Center is steeped in old world charm and elegance. The staff are warm, hospitable and ready to serve.

The front of the Thompson Community Center.Featuring ten guest rooms and suites and over 4,500 square feet of meeting and retreat space, the Thompson Community Center is waiting for you. Whether you are visiting the area, attending a seminar, planning a retreat or holding a business meeting, consider choosing the Thompson Community Center as your destination.

Emmanuel School of Religion is conveniently located across the highway from Milligan College, between Johnson City and Elizabethton, just minutes from any Tri-Cities location.

Who May Lodge or Meet In the Center?
The Center is designed to serve the Emmanuel community. It is open to friends of the School attending functions sponsored by Emmanuel or Milligan College. Area churches may reserve the center for retreats or conferences sponsored or hosted by those congregations. The Center is also available for wedding receptions, family reunions, or friends traveling through East Tennessee. Parents of Emmanuel or Milligan students are welcome to reserve a lodging room. Area organizations, civic groups, schools, or corporations as well are welcome to utilize the facilities of the Thompson Community Center.

Reservations

  • Rates are based on per room charges and are subject to room and sales taxes totaling 14.25%.

  • Individual reservations cannot be made more than 12 months in advance of stay, and must be secured with deposit in the amount of one day’s room rate or guaranteed by a credit card. Full payment for the reservation will be taken upon arrival by credit card.

  • Check-in time is from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.  Check-out time is 11:00 a.m. Other check-in times may be arranged.

  • Cancellations made with more than 30-days notice will have the deposit returned. Cancellations made with 30 or fewer days prior to stay will be charged the full deposit amount. This policy will be stated clearly when you make your reservation and again in your confirmation email. Securing a reservation at Emmanuel's Thompson Community Center indicates that you agree to this policy.The Residential suite bedroom with a full bed.

  • Neither smoking nor consumption of alcoholic beverages is allowed in the Thompson Community Center or anywhere on the Emmanuel Campus.

  • Sorry, no pets of any kind.

  • Policies for group reservations or for extended stays may be different. Please call for details.

Directions
From I-26, take exit 24 onto US 321 and turn right. Take the first exit, turning right onto Milligan Highway. After traveling east approximately 2 miles, turn left on Milligan View and then right on Calvin Phillips Drive.

Rates and availability are subject to change. Occupancy taxes may apply. Rates will increase on NASCAR Race weekends and Story Telling Festival dates.
