Financial Aid at Emmanuel School of Religion

Where there is God’s will, there is always a way.

At Emmanuel, we believe that if God has brought us together, then together we can find a way to enable you to participate in the Emmanuel experience. Our desire is to minimize the cost of your education so that when you leave, you will be free to serve the Lord.

Types of financial aid

Scholarships

Alexander Campbell Scholarships
For students with special “leadership in ministry” abilities, these scholarships cover full tuition for either a Master of Arts in Religion or a Master of Divinity degree. Awards are based on a three- to five-page essay and three letters of reference. While academic standing is considered, selection is primarily based on the essay and letters. Additional forms and application are also required to be considered for this scholarship.

To nominate an entering student for the Alexander Campbell Scholarship (ACS), please read the Memo and complete the Nomination Form. Submit the completed form by February 1, preceding the student's enrollment in the upcoming fall term.

Students who wish to apply for the ACS should read the informational flyer, complete and submit all Admissions and ACS
Application, Recommendation Form material by April 4.

Spouse Scholarships
As an encouragement for married couples to prepare for ministry together, spouses of full-time Emmanuel students may take any number of classes tuition-free. Classes can be taken for credit toward a degree or for audit.

Half-Tuition Scholarships
Emmanuel awards a Half-Tuition Scholarship to most incoming students with a 3.0 grade point average (on a 4.0 grading system). These scholarships cover half of the tuition for the duration of a degree program.

Western Student Scholarships
These scholarships are for students from the Pacific Slope states, or whose undergraduate degree is from Washington, Oregon, California, Arizona, Utah, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico, or Alaska. They cover full tuition for classes during the student's first four semesters. Recipients are awarded half-tuition scholarships for the balance of their degree at Emmanuel.

Fig Tree Scholarships
The Fig Tree Fellowship awards four scholarships each year to students with exceptional academic records who are beginning their studies at Emmanuel. The scholarships cover full tuition and academic fees for the students' first year. Recipients are awarded half-tuition scholarships for the balance of their degree program at Emmanuel.

International Student Scholarships
Each year, our Academic Dean selects two incoming international students to receive full tuition scholarships for a degree program.

Special Opportunities

Professorial Scholarships
Emmanuel offers several professorial scholarships on a year-to-year basis. Interested students need to apply separately from other financial aid applications. Recipients work with a professor for 10 hours per week during the school year.
